Safety in the Application of Plant Protection Products
Plant protection products are important tools in crop protection, but they require strict safety precautions. FitoCalc helps in calculating doses, but does not exempt compliance with legal rules and recommendations on the label.

- •Always read the entire label and, whenever possible, the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
- •Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): gloves, waterproof suit, boots, goggles, and mask/respirator when indicated on the label.
- •Prepare the mixture in a suitable, well-ventilated area with a floor that can retain spills and away from watercourses, wells, ditches, and springs.
- •Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking while handling plant protection products.
- •Do not blow on nozzles with your mouth or use your hands to unblock them. Use clean water and, if necessary, replace the nozzle.
- •Wash your hands, face, and exposed parts of your body thoroughly after preparing and applying the mixture. Wash work clothes separately.
- •In case of contact with skin, eyes, or accidental ingestion, immediately follow the instructions on the label.
- •In case of poisoning, immediately contact the CIAV – Poison Control Center: 808 250 143.
- •Do not contaminate water with the product or its packaging. Do not clean equipment near surface water or rainwater collectors.
- •Dispose of empty packaging after triple washing, using authorized collection circuits and never in ordinary waste or sewage.
